This blog is dedicated to exploring all aspects of 18th Century Religion, Literature, and Culture from a Cultural Studies perspective.  It is especially interested in exploring how different religious and cultural movements shaped the artistic expressions of the day.

About the Author

Andrew Winckles is a Ph.D. Candidate at Wayne State University in Detroit specializing in Eighteenth Century and Romantic Literature and Culture.  His main research interests are in print culture, gender and religious cultures, and the literature of the Evangelical Revival.  His dissertation is titled, “Drawn Out in Love: Religious Experience, the Public Sphere, and Evangelical Women’s Writing in Eighteenth Century England”.
